Media Studies is a hugely popular and successful subject at A level within Royal Russell School. Due to this success, a new GCSE Media qualification will launch in 2017.
The course involves a mixture of theory and practical work. All our students learn how to produce music videos, film trailers and adverts using a range of technologies.
During the course, students learn how to analyse films, advertisements, newspapers, magazines, advertising campaigns and television programmes.
- On completing the course students have progressed to top universities such as University College
- London, Warwick, St Andrew’s and Central St Martin’s, as well as the best Film and TV production course in the UK, at Westminster
- Students can get involved with a multitude of co-curricular activities including the filming of school plays, events, concerts and other ad hoc internal and external projects
- Our students excel in Media Studies, Alisiya and William were shortlisted for British Film Industry student film-making competitions whilst Louie’s short film was screened at US film festivals.
